Scandinavian Birch Drum Shells.

We use crown cut Scandinavian A Grade Birch and not just for the face ply of the shells. 
We use  the same grade Birch throughout the shell. 

The inner and outer face ply are run horizontal as standard, but we can also run these vertically. 

No extra charge, but please let us know at the time of ordering. 

If you order a group of shells, they will all be made from the same bundle ( cut from the same log) to ensure uniformity throughout the shells

100% of our drum shells are made in house, starting with the raw veneer and processing that into plywood so any custom sizes, thickness or intricate veneer work is not a problem. 

Lead Times:

We try to complete single shell orders within 3 week, longer for shell pack orders but if you have specific time restraints ( lack of patience not included :) ) please let us know. 

Fun Facts:

Our shells are cold molded and don't use any internal pressure, instead the shells dry naturally and rely on exact measurement and cutting.

There will be no gaps in the joins that you see in mass produced oven type mold systems that rely on internal pressure

The lack of heated glue impregnating the whole shell ( this happens in the oven type systems) allows for a truer reflection of the shells voice, you will find a greater difference in the pitch of the shells between the various diameters, as you're hearing the wood, not the glue.
